Some
say that Germany should be in the lead, because it has done so many
things right. Others say that Germany is trying to take over and should
keep its place. Everybody – including the Germans themselves – seems to
agree that the German economy is very strong.
Then why
is it, that Germans feel the need to save money, cutting budgets, not
investing in their own well being? Why do campaigns as "Geiz ist geil!" ("Greed is Great!") sprout from the ground like weed? Why do the Germans embrace the spirit of lack?
Even worse: Germans have taken up an attitude of humiliating public figures by criticizing them to have a too high an income:

Should Germany give more money to save the Euro?
Should Germany be more in charge and monitor other European countries
expenses? Should the German government spend more money on saving
employment in Germany ("Schlecker" affaire)? Or should the German
government cut down some more to save money and to reduce debt? To be
honest, I can't answer these questions because I'm not an economist and
it seems to me that even the experts aren't so sure. In any case I have a
complete different perspective on this.

Let's ask ourselves, do public figures, politicians, managers, people in the lead deserve more money?
Or should we all have the same? If your answer on the latter is "YES"
you are favoring the communistic ideology. If your answer to the first
question was "YES" you feel that the free market economy works. Now
don't get me wrong: Either one is fine with me! What I want to draw your
attention to is, what happens here?
If you think it
isn't fair that Mr. Jauch has so much money, fine. Switch off the TV and
cancel your TV connection! Write to the channel he works with why
you're acting this way. Complain to his sponsors, find a lobby, sign a
petition. This is all too complicated? You'd rather sit in your chair
and complain? Well, that indicates that you don't really mean it and
you're just envious! Now again, I'm not judging you. It's simply what
you get. If your actions are miserly, so will be the results. One gets
out what one puts in.
If you are not investing, you
will not get results. I am not asking you to waste away your money.
Don't spend ANY money – or energy for that matter – on anything you
DON'T believe in. However, if you believe in something, invest yourself,
your money, your energy in it! Do you believe in the Euro? Do you
believe in free market economy? Do you believe watching TV is fun? Then
do something for it! Invest in it and you'll receive double! If you
believe you can sit there and complain all you want and you shouldn't
have to do anything, then that's miserly energy and miserly energy is
what you'll get back double.
Now what am I saying here about the Euro crisis?
What I'm saying is, the Euro does exactly what people believe it will
do: It withers because Europeans don't believe in it. Germans feel poor
and cheated upon and fear more poverty and so that's what they will get.
Maybe it's for the better that the Euro, the free market economy and
democracy will fall, so we can start investing us in something better.
Or maybe we will start to believe in these things.
In a nutshell:
If the Euro is going down is up to you. You can make the difference, if
you believe in it. So become an activist, donate, write to your
representative, talk to your neighbor, get up from that chair, from your
comfort zone and do something. Ask yourself, what do I really believe
in, because that's what you're attracting. And if you have trouble
